About us:
jMonkeyEngine is a 3D game development engine for Java developers. We are a top tier open source project in our category, the most recent evidence of which being a nomination in the PacktPub Open Source Graphics Software contest.
Introduction:
We have two websites, jmonkeyengine.org and .com, one dedicated to our community and one dedicated to showcasing our project, respectively. We’ve successfully managed, customized and extended our sites to our best ability. We’ll never stop tending to the site, but sometimes we spend hours to complete tasks that an experienced web developer could complete in minutes.
The job:
This job is meant to be a long term commitment as a member of the jMonkeyEngine core team. As this would be on a completely volunteer basis the workload is whatever you make of it. At its simplest we’re just looking for someone to quickly handle various theme tweaks and optimizations; giving our themes a little bit of identity, while looking out for possible slowdowns.
Requirements:
- Passionate about games & game development, Java, Android and open source.
- Good knowledge of modern standards HTML, CSS, PHP and preferably JavaScript/AJAX.
- Able to work with WordPress, BuddyPress, bbPress and preferably multisite
- Able to work with the WooFramework
Rewards:
- On a monthly basis we have 50’000 visits and 270’000 page views, distributed across 20’000 visitors. We’d gladly point some of that traffic back to you via a footer- and affiliate link.
- Experience a very active and friendly core team. We communicate (by opt-in chat) on a daily basis.
